Grass Reinforcement

Fleximas Grass Reinforcement Mesh is a tough, flexible, long lasting polymer grid used to permanently reinforce grassed areas used by vehicles and pedestrians. Grass interwines with and grows through the mesh, giving a natural appearance. See our installation guide for further details.

Applications include: Overspill car parks, grassed access routes, caravan parks, lawns subject to heavy pedestrian use, grass verges in urban and parkland areas, driving ranges as an antiball plugging mesh and as a support underneath rubber mats in children's playgrounds.

When installing grass reinforcement mesh it is essential to allow the grass to grow and "knit" to the mesh for as long as possible. The longer the time the mesh is down before use, the more protected the area will become. The best time to install the mesh is in spring when the ground has dried out from the winter. Usually if installed in the growing season it takes 2-3 weeks for the grass to take to the mesh. If the mesh is used before the grass has had time to grow through and secure it in place then the mesh can become slippery when wet.

If the mesh is installed in the winter months, it is advisable not to use the area until the grass has started to grow through the mesh. This could possibly be in spring, depending on your location.

Grass reinforcement plastic mesh has a memory which causes it to roll back up. Therefore, until the grass has "grasped" the mesh and levelled out, steel U-Pins are required to pin the mesh down. The recommendation is to have 100 pins per roll. Click here to see more information on the pins.
