Filtration

Filtration

For filtration, Intermas manufacture a special Filtersyst range of extruded and knitted nets, made from FDA approved polymers. The principal applications of these meshes are filter media support, reverse osmosis spacers, protection and containment.

New products are continuously added to the Filtersyst range following customer led requirements. These include the TEXNET range which are nets laminated to non-wovens, films etc. Fleximas, together with Intermas have worked successfully with customers to produce tailor-made, optimum netting solutions.

The important characteristics of our meshes - flatness, stiffness and the options of bi and tri planer meshes allow Fleximas to provide a wide range of product solutions. Additionally, anti-microbial and flame retardant agents may be added to the polymer.

Because our meshes are 100% plastic (polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon etc) they are totally recyclable and, therefore, an ideal alternative to metal support grids.

Our nets are currently being used with success in cabin air filters, reverse osmosis liquid filtration and hydraulic filters.

Pleating support for Air Filter Units
Diamond / Bi planer nets are key components of air and liquid filtration units. In the UK our polypropylene meshes have been incorporated into tightly spaced pleatable air filtration packs. The Intermas pleatable meshes are unique in that they are very flat and have a uniform tension across the width allowing for very precise, straight, slitting. Also the excellent "memory" incorporated into the mesh enables please to be held in place.

Spacers for Reverse Osmosis Membranes
Intermas offers unique bi-planer and tri-planer meshes for use as spacers in R.O filtration system. These meshes are custom-tailored to meet the individual needs of each client.

Nets for Hydraulic Filters
In addition to polypropylene and polyethylene, nylon and polyester can be used for more challenging chemical, hydraulic, water and hydrocarbon applications where more resistant meshes are required. Nylon meshes are an attractive, more environmentally friendly solution for pleating fibreglass media than metal grids.

Protective Sleeves for Filter Cartridge Protection
The Intermas range of protective tubular nets, made from polypropylene or polyethylene are used as sleeves for the outer protection of filter cartridges. With a very wide range of sizes available and, with the option to tailor make a product, Intermas are certain to have a sleeve to suit.
