Grass Reinforcement Mesh |

 |
Fleximas
Grass Reinforcement Mesh is a tough, flexible, long lasting polymer
grid to permanently reinforce grassed areas used by vehicles and pedestrians.
Grass interwines with and grows through the mesh, giving a natural
appearance.
Applications Include: Overspill car parks, grassed
access routes, caravan parks, lawns subject to heavy pedestrian use,
grass verges in urban and parkland areas, driving ranges as an anti-ball
plugging mesh and as a support underneath rubber mats in childrens
playgrounds.
Installation
It is strongly recommended that installation be carried out during the
growing season to allow a strong interlock between the mesh and the grass
roots, since the intertwining of the roots with the mesh gives the turf the
strength to resist light traffic and temporary car parking. Therefore, a
full growing season must be allowed before using the area.
Once fixed in place, the grass will grow through the mesh and may then
be mown, rolled and fertilised as usual. When fully established the mesh
will be invisible and the turf will have a normal appearance.
Where a wide area is to be protected, the mesh should be overlapped and
the layers held down with metal U or J pins.

The difference between the standard and the premium meshes is simply that the standard weight is 450g/m², whereas the premium weight is 650g/m². This means that the heavier premium grade can withstand more pressure from its load and is, therefore, stronger and more resistant. This premium grade has been successfully installed in many applications such as overspill car parks, walk ways and air fields.
The standard lighter weight mesh should only be used as an anti ball plugging mesh on driving ranges or as a grass reinforcement mesh where the traffic is very light weight or for very occasional use.
If your requirements are for a mesh to take heavier traffic then please look
at the FLEXIMAS Grass Protection Mesh 5162. |

FLEXIMAS
HDPE grass protection mesh 5162 is used for outdoor events, to support
grassed areas and prevent damage caused by heavier loads, such
as cars, HGVs and horses etc. This mesh is 9mm thick, which helps to spread
the weight of the load over its surface area more so than the standard
or premium turf reinforcement meshes.
5162 is ideally suited for permanent or temporary car parks or where there is
a very heavy pededtrian traffic. Also, this mesh has recently been used very
successfully
for use with horses, on stable entrances and walkways.

Ground Stabilisation Mesh |
 |
Ground
Stabilisation Mesh is an extruded HDPE geo-net and is ideal for the
prevention of impassable, deep mudded areas made by vehicles on soil
/ grass tracks and farm gateways. The ground stabilisation mesh filaments
interlock with the top layer of soil or stone, improving surface stability.
It can be used in the construction of small roads to prevent surface
deformation caused by penetration of the granular sub-base into the
soft sub-grade.
Applications Include
* Road embankments & slopes
* Farm gateways
* Grass & soil tracks
* Grassed/soil areas being used by heavy farm machinery
Installation
The surface should be levelled and any deep ruts filled with crushed
stone. The Ground Stabilisation Mesh can then be rolled out over the
prepared site and covered evenly with the required depth of stone.
(Type 1 Road Stone - approx. 250mm minimum). The depth of stone will
depend on the ground conditions and the purpose for which the access
or track is required.
The protected area can then be used immediately and over a period
of time will compact even more, resulting in a permanent access route.
Note: In severely muddy situations it is advisable to install an effective
drainage system.
Ground Stabilisation Mesh is available in green and black, and in varying
mesh sizes and weights. For example:

For
the prevention of land erosion, Fleximas
have three products,
Trinter, Cellnet, Bio rolls.
CELLNET
Cellnet is a completely new erosion control net, which is an extruded
net with a cellular structure which combines to give the following
advantages:
Cellnets cellular structure is effective for holding
large volumes of soil
Produced from an extruded net, it has very good drainage capacity
CELLNET. Size 2 x 3m. Weight 1067 g / m²
BIO ROLLS
Bio-Rolls are very powerful and efficient products for erosion control.
They have been successfully used to stabilise soil after, for example,
forest fires.
Bio-Rolls reduce slope length, preventing the build up of excessive
sedimentation in civil works and promoting re-vegetation. Bio-Rolls
also have the large advantage of acting as a FILTER, holding back
sedimentation yet allowing water to pass through the rolls.
4339 Bio Roll Net. Diameter 23 cm x 305m. Weight 37.5 gr/ml.

Steep Slope Protection |

|
One
of the most effective methods of preventing erosion problems when
constructing slopes is the planting of vegetation. Dense, deep-rooted
vegetation is the best protection possible for any slope.
Foliage absorbs the destructive energy of rainfall preventing the
detachment of soil particles, whilst the root systems can bind and
restrain soil particles. Vegetation can also filter out sediment
from rainwater run-off.
However, on many new developments soil can be washed or blown away
before vegetation has an opportunity to establish a strong root
system. Now Trinter Soil Retention Mat can offer the solution to
these erosion problems. Trinter is an erosion control net made
of strong polyethylene and polypropylene. It offers permanent protection
against soil erosion from the moment it is installed and is now
being used extensively throughout Europe with great success.
Easy to use, very strong and durable with a high resistance to
degradation, Trinter can be used on all kinds of slopes. Easily
rolled out and pinned onto the slope it actually traps newly laid
soil and seed, preventing it from being washed or blown away. This
offers protection even before any vegetation has been established.
Trinter allows germination to successfully take place, encouraging
vegetation to flourish. Within several months the root system becomes
interlaced with the Trinter, stabilising the top layer, allowing
a strong deeper root system to establish itself over time.
The attractive green vegetation which results, not only reinforces
the slope but enhances it's appearance and results in a healthy
green environment.
Trinter can provide effective erosion control for many
applications including:
- Road, motorway and railway cuts and fills
- River banks, channels and irrigation canals
- Reservoir embankments, dams and lagoons
- Grassed spillways
- Culvert inlet and outfalls
- Golf courses, lawns and residential areas.
Advantages
Strength
Trinter is made using two polypropylene nets and reinforced with a third
extruded polyethylene net. Pinned at regular centres, Trinter has sufficient
strength for use on slopes of any length and gradient.
Soil Retention
Trinter Mat has a unique three layered corrugated structure which provides
excellent soil retention properties. Testing shows that Trinter clearly
out-performs other leading brands.
Flexibility
Trinter has the necessary flexibility to mould itself to the slope face
and accommodate undulations without lifting from the surface.
Soil Continuity
Trinter consists of an open net structure which allows topsoil to easily
pass into the composite where it is then held in place. Erosion mats with
too dense a structure can prevent topsoil from passing through the product
and making contact with the underlying soil. As a result the roots can
fail to span over the void and the top soil can quickly dry out.
Trinter allows topsoil to pass through the structure making constant contact
with the underlying soil. This forms a homogeneous reinforced base necessary
for quick growth of vegetation.
