Oyster Bags
Growing oysters in bags "Poches" has become the technology of choice in most countries, given the quality as well as the quantity of
oysters obtained, at very competitive costs. INTERMAS has been present in this market since its beginning, providing solutions and working directly with customers.
FLEXIMAS have been supplying these bags directly to UK growers for many years now. Our Aquaculture specialists give advice to growers in many countries and recommend the best alternatives
for producing oysters in large quantities. We can also supply all the necessary materials needed for this system. Thanks to its product quality and
resistance, our product can be used for many, many years.

Reinforcement - Reinforced with longitudinal
threads for a greater strength.
Sealing - The bags can be sealed at one end by heat sealing it.
Conformed - The bags can be modified (through a secondary process) in such a way that the sides leave sufficient room for oysters to grow without any oppressions - thus giving better results and yielding a higher production. The confirmation gives what we call a "box shape" to the bag.

Volume oyster bag INTERMAS has developed a new innovative Volume Oyster Bag for the oyster market. This oyster bag has a large interior capacity, allowing a greater flow of water through it, which provides a major growth advantage to the oyster. To obtain the volume effect, the interior structure has been designed to allow the oyster bag to be expanded. To do this, the product has been given a great hardiness (900g/unit) for major longevity and resistrance. |

Suspended oyster bag INTERMAS - thanks to its relationship and on-going cooperation with YAD MARINE - has developed a new Oyster bag with a suspended system. This system offers many advantages including: improvement of oysters' quality, size homogenisation, up to 50% additional growth and reduction in the cost of labour. It's foldable structure optimises handling and transport. |

Oyster box The oyster box is a box shaped bag. Each Oyster box has a cut (7cm long x 3cm wide) in two places along its's sides. The box is then ready to be formed by the customer and when completed has a length of 45-47cm, a width of 36038cm and a height of 6-7cm. |
Rubber Bands
Rubber bands are used to secure oyster bags to the tables. Intermas rubber bands have been laboratory tested to guarantee resistance against UV, sea oxidation and very high mechanical resistance. When the bands are combined with hooks, the bags are extremely stable on the tables. The rubber bands have the following properties.
- Approved mixture, resistant to the beams UV, oxidation of the sea and great mechanical resistence.
- Duration of the elasticity and life of band is from 3 to 8 years
- The length of the Rubber bands width depends on the size of the waves:
Calm 10 mm length / normal 15mm lenghth / moved 20 mm length - All products below are stock items

Oyster bag cutting machine Allows the production of bags in a very rapid and precise manner, starting from both sides to open oyster bags. This machine makes 4 cuts of 6 cm each (or deeper), at the sides of bags. The machine is sold together with a conformation module which plys and staples the final bag. It is a robust and easy to use machinet, which can work at both 220 or 280v. |

Seed collecting tube High performance system for collecting natural oyster and mussel seeds. Half tube made in HDPE, with crossed filaments providing a rigid and high surface. It may be used in hanging systems, or under water structures (pallets, etc.). After passing through a chalk bath, they are extremely surface resistant due to the cohesion between both sides of the tube (inside and outside). After collection, the seed is easily removed by high pressure water jets. The system has high longevity and does not take too much space during stock or transportation. |
Pearl Oyster System
This is a key component of a new pearl oyster growing system, with an extremely long life and very low initial investment costs. The tubular oyster bags are made of a HDPE heavy weight diamond mesh, in black, with UV additives. The weight and rigidity of this net provides complete protection against predators (giant turtles etc) as well as being a "lantern" in which cultures are developed. One key advantage is the very low surface tension of extruded nets, which has very low adhesion to algae and other marine micro organisms.
